President, Bickerstaff Family Foundation; Orange County, California

Debbie Bickerstaff is president of Bickerstaff Family Foundation, a private 501 (c)3 non-profit which she and her husband founded in 2001. The foundation grants monies to organizations worldwide that serve chronically ill children, as well as funding for HIV and cancer research and other organizations that promote education and emotional well being for young adults who have experienced childhood abuse. Mrs. Bickerstaff is a volunteer with several of the organizations which her foundation supports, most notably the Bickerstaff Pediatric Family Center in Long Beach, CA which serves HIV-positive women and children.
The Bickerstaff Family Foundation began a relationship with m2m in October of 2005 with a grant benefiting Site B in Khayelitsha in Cape Town, South Africa. Today the foundation continues to support m2m in South Africa, Malawi and Swaziland.
Raised in San Diego, Debbie now lives with her husband Glen, and 2 children, Brian and Katie in Orange County, CA. She has spent many years volunteering at her children’s schools, and on various booster clubs for the children’s athletic teams. Today, Debbie spends her time as a wife and mother, volunteers with different outreach programs, and manages the Bickerstaff Family Foundation. The Foundation currently helps support 18 different organizations as well as the Bickerstaff Scholarship Fund for HIV-infected Youth.
Some of the organizations which Debbie is affiliated with in addition to m2m are: Memorial Medical Center Foundation, Starlight Foundation, Interval House, Pathways to Independence, Vanguard Cancer Foundation, Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA, and One Heartland.
