John W. Franklin, Jr. has thirty years experience as an executive recruiter and now owns his own business, JWF Advisors, counseling executives who wishing to make career transitions and change direction. He began his career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal and worked at the Agency for International Development on the India Desk. After several years in management consulting, he became a recruiter, joined Russell Reynolds Associates and opened and ran their Washington office until leaving to start his own business in 2002. Under his leadership, the Washington office became one of the firm's most successful. He is a graduate of Amherst College (BA), and Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (MA). He has lived in Washington, D.C. since graduate school, is married to Barbara Larkin Franklin, has three grown children and four grandchildren. He is the former head of the board of the Wendt Center for Loss and Healing, a non-profit which for thirty years has provided grief counseling to those who have lost loved ones. Services are often to children suffering a traumatic loss such as homicide. |
