London, U.K. – 4 November 2015: To mark the start of the fifteenth year of mothers2mothers (m2m) work in sub-Saharan Africa, Annie Lennox hosted and performed for 250 guests last night at One Marylebone, London. The event was supported by MAC Cosmetics and Universal Music and raised well in excess of an incredible half a million pounds, funds that will support the charity’s work to create a generation free of HIV.

Guests enjoyed a drinks reception, with Alex Mytton DJing, supported by Gucci. Next Model Management were also out in force supporting the event, hosting guests during the drinks reception and dinner.

The evening began with presenters Hugh Bonneville and Kirsty Wark welcoming Annie Lennox to the stage. Guests listened to Annie speak of her longstanding involvement and commitment to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, bringing the audience’s attention to the fact that worldwide AIDS is the leading cause of death among women of reproductive age. She went onto perform two sets during the evening, including songs from Grammy nominated Nostalgia album as well as her greatest hits such as Sweet Dreams.

Victoria Beckham, who generously donated items from her pre-Spring/Summer 2016 Ready to Wear collection, spoke of her passion for mothers2mothers having visited the programme in South Africa on more than one occasion, seeing for herself the amazing work that the charity’s Mentor Mothers do.

Guests bid generously on auction lots including Bionda Castana exclusive collaboration with m2m, a signed keyboard from Gary Barlow, and a collection of Gibson guitars, signed by artists including Liam Payne, Coldplay, Sting, and Ed Sheeran. Jack Guinness then took to the stage to DJ the after-party, following Annie Lennox’s final performance and a few last words from Hugh Bonneville and Kirsty Wark.
