mothers2mothers Embraces Social Media
There’s no need to effuse about how powerful the Internet is, nor how tools like Facebook and blogs have revolutionized the way we communicate, creating a community information exchange amongst a truly global neighborhood. mothers2mothers is embracing these new online social media platforms, in the hopes of raising awareness of HIV/AIDS and the powerful women-heroes that are m2m’s greatest resource, as well as further supporting the organization’s fundraising initiatives. Two recent new additions to mothers2mothers’ internet presence can be found on Facebook and MORE.com.

Over the past few months, friends and families have been spreading the word of mothers2mothers by inviting their Facebook Friends to join the mothers2mothers’ Cause page.  The page is updated with recent m2m links and articles, and also offers some fantastic (and easy) opportunities to both invite those close to you to share your passion for mothers2mothers and create great fundraising opportunities to celebrate our Cause Supporters.  Facebook makes it incredibly easy for you to host a mothers2mothers fundraiser for your birthday.  It’s fun, creative, and is an amazing way to share the gift of your birthday with the amazing African women of m2m.  Through our Facebook page, you can request that your friends donate in lieu of gifts to m2m from a highlighted link on your page.   It’s a simple and powerful way to show your support and inspire others to help mothers2mothers by spreading your passion for our Cause.   For both current and non-Facebook users, you can click on this link to get started.

Co-founder and International Director Robin Smalley has added another title to her many m2m accomplishments, and is now a featured 'Blogger' on MORE.com.  Robin has made a big splash with MORE magazine’s online platform, aimed at 40+ women by sharing her and m2m’s mother’s “Second Act” stories. You can read Robin’s most recent blog here, comment on the mothers’ stories, and follow her on a monthly basis as she brings our unsung heroes to your web browser.
