Expanding Reach Across sub-Saharan Africa
Since our last newsletter in July, the m2m program teams across the continent have been making remarkable headway in their respective countries, growing the m2m programs as well as enhancing and modifying the service delivery. Since June alone, m2m has opened an additional 34 sites across the seven countries, and plans for future expansion into other African countries have begun to take shape.

New expansion to reach more women in more countries is rapidly progressing through the appropriate approval process and partnership enlistment.  m2m has been formally invited and given clearance by the Ministries of Health in Mozambique and Namibia, allowing programmatic planning to further advance.  This is a crucial step in allowing m2m’s facility based services to become more integrated into existing operations, further enhancing effectiveness and appropriate support mechanisms.

Additional successful partnership discussions have made m2m service delivery into Uganda and Tanzania one step closer to reality.  In Uganda, m2m progression includes ongoing sub-agreement discussions with John Snow Inc (JSI), with a focus on the budgetary component, and the recruitment of an m2m Programme Co-ordinator to be based in Jinja as part of the STAR-EC project team.  In Tanzania, m2m has moved forward on multiple discussions with exisiting and new partners, to be solidified and announced shortly.
