Director of Programs

Before joining mothers2mothers, she was the Medical Director for a Cape Town based non-profit organization, Ikamva Labantu. Amongst many responsibilities she directed the organization’s health and staff care and outreach programs, developed community health care strategies and managed many of the organization’s projects and collaborations.

Kathrin joined the mothers2mothers leadership team in September 2005 and has worked to implement organization-wide systems and to standardize the mothers2mothers service delivery model across all program sites. As the Director of Programmes for Southern Africa she gives support and leadership to the Southern Africa country teams, creates new opportunities for the program in country and in new countries, and facilitates processes and procedures, which support quality program service delivery, and supports efforts to build relationships with governments and other organizations.

Kathrin trained as a medical doctor and graduated with an MBChB from the University of Mainz in Germany. She worked as a Pediatrician in Germany for three years before moving to Cape Town in 2001.

Kathrin also holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
