At mothers2mothers Kathrin is an innovative doctor committed to confronting the HIV/AIDS epidemic through public health initiatives.

Before joining m2m, she was the Medical Director for a Cape Town based non-profit organization, Ikamva Labantu. Amongst many responsibilities she directed the organization’s health and staff care and outreach programs, developed community health care strategies and managed many of the organization’s projects and collaborations.

Kathrin joined the mothers2mothers leadership team in September 2005 as the Director of Programs and Operations. She has worked to implement organization-wide systems and to standardize the mothers2mothers service delivery model across all program sites.

Kathrin trained as a medical doctor, graduating with an MBChB from the University of Mainz in Germany. She worked as a pediatrician in Germany for three years before moving to Cape Town in 2001. Kathrin also holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
