Senior Programme Manager and New Partners Initiative (NPI) Project Coordinator Monica is a medical epidemiologist and senior public health professional who brings specialized skills and extensive experience in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment in resource constrained settings to mothers2mothers. Her role as the NPI Project Coordinator and Senior Program Manager includes providing oversight and support to m2m programs in Kenya and Rwanda. Before joining m2m in September 2007, Monica played a pivotal leadership role for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and PEPFAR in crisis ridden Cote d’Ivoire for the last 6 years as the Director of Project RETRO-CI and CDC Chief of Party. For her service to public health in Cote d’Ivoire she was made a Meritorious Officer of the Republic. Monica draws on a strong and varied professional background including her medical training, a Masters in Public Health at Harvard University, a CDC Fellowship with a focus on PMTCT in international settings as an Epidemic Intelligence Officer (EIS), humanitarian relief work with NGO Merlin in Sierra Leone and Albania during the Kosovo crisis, and clinical work in remote Aboriginal communities in Australia. |
