Gene Falk

In 2003, Gene Falk left a long career in the media industry to join long-time friend Dr. Mitch Besser in South Africa. Together they developed mother2mothers. Prior to working with m2m, Gene was a senior executive at Showtime Networks. Where he established and ran the Digital Media Group and oversaw the company’s new business opportunities, business development activities and new media ventures. Earlier in his tenure, Gene was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Showtime’s Direct Broadcast group and played a key role in its pay per view division’s partnership with legendary boxing promoter Don King.

Gene has a long-standing history of activism for HIV/AIDS issues and gay and lesbian civil rights. He was a founding national Board member of GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, and subsequently served as its Board Chair. Gene also provided critical support and direction to HIV/AIDS organizations including Treatment Action Group (TAG) and Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC), and he was instrumental in establishing the Michael Palm Foundation, a leading source of funding for HIV/AIDS and LGBT organizations. He has served on many other Boards and is the recipient of numerous awards and citations, including TAG's "Treatment in Action" award and the Skoll Foundation Award for Social Entrepreneurship.

In addition to his MBA from Wharton, Gene holds a BA cum laude from Williams.
