Michael Allpass joined mothers2mothers in September, 2008. He has held senior financial management positions in both US domestic and international corporations, including Fortune 500, public and private. He launched his career with eleven years of Big 4 public accounting experience with Deloitte Touche, South Africa and Ernst and Young, Canada and the United States, heading up the Computer Audit practice in Atlanta office and South East Region. His entrepreneurial background includes owning his own CPA and Information Systems consulting practice for seven years. His experience includes building infrastructure and leading Accounting, Information Technology, Human Resources and Administration departments in fast growing companies, including a large US government contractor.

After twenty five years in the United States, Mike was touched, moved and inspired by the mothers2mothers program, the management team and the staff and decided to relocate back to Cape Town to be a part of this organization. He graduated with an Honors degree in Accounting Science from the University of South Africa and achieved designations of Chartered Accountant (SA), Georgia Certified Public Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor.

At least 12 million children in sub-Saharan Africa have lost their parents or caregivers to AIDS-related illnesses. mothers2mothers provides the knowledge, support and hope required for preserving a mother's health so she can live to raise her child.

More than 95% of the mothers in our program are tested for HIV vs. a national average of 20%. Nearly all of them give birth to HIV-negative children.
