Robin Smalley is mothers2mothers’ international director. In 2004, whilst living in South Africa with her family, Robin directed the organizations rapid expansion, successfully managing our development and expanding the funding pool from donations made by individual donors and local businesses, to grants from major international organizations and governments. In the past, her non-profit work focused on providing job training and placement in the entertainment industry for at-risk youth. She joined the Board of Directors of the Hollywood-based Streetlights Production Assistant Program and started a consultation business with several high-profile clients. She was then introduced to The Media Project, an NPO devoted to working with television writers and producers in the area of adolescent sexuality and reproductive health. As Director of The Media Project, Robin supervised a seven-year period of the program’s expansion. This included promotion of the rapidly successful SHINE Awards (Sexual Health in Entertainment) and implementation of Viacom’s “Know/AIDS” campaign in Los Angeles. Robin has 15-years of experience working in the entertainment industry and has devoted over a decade of her life to the non-profit world. She is a member of both the Writers Guild of America and the Directors Guild of America, and has produced a variety of shows, and is also an Emmy Award-winning director. |
