Today, we are delighted to announce that actress Samantha Bond has become m2m’s newest Patron! She joins Annie Lennox and Salma Hayek Pinault in holding this role.

Samantha is an English screen and stage actress, best known for her role as Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond films during the Pierce Brosnan years. She was first introduced to mothers2mothers in 2015 through her attendance at a biennial fundraising dinner with fellow Downton Abbey cast members and has since continued to consistently advocate for our work to end paediatric AIDS. 

Samantha has already been a longstanding supporter and integral member of the m2m family. Over the last two years, she has continuously dedicated her time to attend and speak at various m2m events in London, United Kingdom and has expanded her knowledge of our work by spending time with m2m Mentor Mothers. Her latest commitment as an m2m Patron follows her dedication to other charities and foundations, including being a Trustee of The Royal Theatrical Fund, an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, and a Celebrity Supporter for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Speaking about her new role, Samantha says, “I am honoured to be a Patron for mothers2mothers and to join the 1,600 Mentor Mothers that are committed to creating a generation free from HIV. I have had the opportunity to spend time with several Mentor Mothers since supporting m2m, and have continuously been astounded by their strength and resilience. It is clear that they are a force to be reckoned with and are advocates for change not just within their own communities, but beyond.”
