Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex To Visit mothers2mothers In Cape Town

We are thrilled to share that mothers2mothers (m2m) will be hosting Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Sussex, in Cape Town on Wednesday 25 September, 2019.  This engagement will form part of the Royal Tour, which begins on Monday 23 September.

During her visit to m2m, The Duchess will hear from a range of m2m staff about our work to create health, hope, and an HIV-free generation across the African continent. She will gain insight into how our Mentor Mother Model—which was born in Cape Town in 2001 and sees women living with HIV trained and employed as community health workers—has to date created over 10,000 jobs for women living with HIV and reached more than 11M women and children under two years old.

We are excited to share our big wins with The Duchess—especially how m2m has achieved virtual elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV for our enrolled clients for the last five years in a row. In addition, we are also looking forward to an honest discussion about the challenges we still face, especially in our work with adolescent girls and young women.

If you don’t already, please follow us on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter to get updates on the visit. Members of the media who wish to find out more about m2m’s work, or request interviews with m2m representatives, are encouraged to visit our media resources page.

We can’t wait for Wednesday!
